Our 41,000 square foot warehouse, means that in most cases your item will be in stock. We aim to ship your order either on the same day, or on the next working day after we receive it. Every order is a priority order! Our whole order process is designed to get your order out the door and on its way to you in the shortest possible time so you aren’t left waiting. We aim to dispatch every in-stock order placed before 12pm that day (Mon-Fri). Once we have done our bit we hand your parcel over to our delivery partners and they do the rest. Harrods Pet Spa
Harrods of London recently opened their Pet Spa department and Christies Direct was pleased to be chosen as the principal supplier to this prestigious venue. We supplied tables, blasters, clippers and other grooming products which will ensure that Harrods has the proper equipment to offer the very best service to their clients.
Please note that all dryers we sell are covered by our 12 month collect & return warranty. UK and Ireland only (Postcode exclusions apply). It’s the senders’ responsibility to package these warranty repairs and when sending back large items, they must be palletized prior to collection.
Please inform us, when ordering, if there will be no one available at your address to sign for goods when they arrive, as our courier will not deliver without a signature. If you miss the courier, a delivery card should be left for you to arrange a time and date for delivery. Your cooperation in this would be much appreciated.
1992: Christies Direct was established in 1992 and this year we celebrate our 20th anniversary. The company has grown from a small business with one employee, to a company with over 20 employees, who sell to thousands of customers in UK, Ireland and 20 countries around the world. Right from day one, we have always strived to put the customer first and to go the extra mile when it comes to customer service. Originally the company started selling large animal grooming products for horses, cattle and sheep and until 1996 this was our entire range.
1996: Christies Direct started selling pet grooming products to groomers, exhibitors and pet owners. We were the first specialist mail order pet grooming supplier based in Ireland and one of the major problems in the early days which we had to overcome was the fact that we were based in Northern Ireland and we were supplying warranty items to customers in Great Britain. There was a fear with these customers that if their items developed a problem during their warranty period they would have major problems returning their machine to us for replacement or repair. So, with this in mind we developed our unique “Collect & Return Warranty”, which we now sell with almost every dryer in our range. In short this warranty means that should the dryer develop a fault, we will collect the machine from the customer, repair or replace it and return it again to the customer, all free of charge. This proved to our customers that we were serious about providing the best customer service and even to this day we are the only company to offer this service. For the next 5 years the business grew steadily, however it was in 2001 that our greatest opportunity came.
2001: This was the year of the Foot & Mouth outbreak and as a result of this, all large animal shows were cancelled. This was a trying time for the business but instead of contracting, we decided to concentrate fully on the pet grooming side of our business and we sourced new suppliers, printed an industry leading catalogue and mailed this to over 5000 potential customers in the UK & Ireland. The response to the catalogue and the new products was phenomenal and meant that our sales for that year actually increased.
2003: This year, we exhibited for the first time, at the world famous Crufts Dog Show in Birmingham and have exhibited there every year since.
2006: Christies Direct moved to our new offices and 17,000 square foot warehouse and opened our retail showroom which not only sells grooming products, but a wide range of pet food and accessories as well.
2007: The Pozer brand of shampoos and pet colognes is launched
2008: Christies Direct exhibits at the world famous Interzoo show in Nuremburg, Germany which is the largest pet trade show in the world.
2009: Christies Direct launches the Groom Professional range of professional grooming products and equipment. This is now one of the fastest growing grooming brands in Europe and has been exported to 15 countries around the world.
2010: The Groom Professional brand is launched in Europe at the Interzoo show in Nuremburg with a great response from the leading distributors.
2010: Christies Direct launch their new updated website, also their Facebook and Twitter sites.
2010: Christies Direct are proud to be chosen as the official suppliers to the new Pet Spa at Harrods, Knightsbridge, London.
2011: The Large Animal division is sold to allow the company to concentrate on the pet grooming side of the business and to work on the goal of becoming the largest online grooming supplier in Europe.
2011: Christies Direct win Best Growth Business at the North Antrim Business Awards
2011: Christies Direct exhibit at the Zoomark show in Bologna with orders received from Italy, Spain and Japan.
2011: Christies Direct launch their iPhone app on the Apple App Store
2012: ChristiesDirect celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a special CelebrationWeekend and Gala Dinner
Almost 200 people,including customers, suppliers, employees and their families as well as friends attended the special gala dinner. The weekend incorporated professionalgrooming seminars by world renowned American grooming experts, the gala dinnerand other events.
Colin Christie, the Managing Director of Christies Direct established the company in 1992. He was brought up on the family farm where he gained a love for all types of animals, both small and large. His objective has always been, to build a business where the customer truly comes first. The company motto is “to be the only company our customers would want to do business with and the only company our staff would want to work for”
He travels around the world extensively each year meeting with suppliers, customers and sourcing new products. He is passionate about developing new product lines, which are innovative and great value for money. As far as the future goes, his aim is to grow the online business and continually improve the level of customer service.
Colin is married, with a daughter of 20 and a 15 year old son. He enjoys reading, walking, football and when time permits, playing golf. He has 3 dogs, a Boxer, Bichon and a Pug
